Santa Clara County —which until this move has been totally gung-ho about the 49ers building a stadium in Santa Clara —has just pulled $30 million in tax funds from the construction of the stadium. They think teachers should get the cash. The 49ers and Santa Clara city leaders aren't happy. "Ladies and gentlemen, retain your attorneys: The litigation is (about) to begin," said County Assessor Larry Stone. The 49ers say it'll eat the loss, since it's pennies compared to the $1.2 billion it'll take to build the thing. [Mercury News]
