12 Months, 12 Events

The Protect Coit Tower Committee got what it wanted; Proposition B passed by 53 percent in June. The rather vague ballot measure said that Rec and Park would "strictly limit" events held at the tower, but didn't specify a number. Now, a few very vocal ballot measure backers are pretty pissed that the Rec and Park Commission will consider allowing one private event per month. Jon Golinger, head honcho for the Protect Coit Tower Committee said that's not what he had in mind by "strictly limit." The new policy is ultimately up to the Board of Supervisors, as mandated by the City Charter. [SF Examiner/photo via Bhautik Joshi]
