The four-alarm fire at Pier 29 yesterday afternoon caused approximately $2.4M in damages. The building was vacant and under construction in preparation for the America's Cup sailing race in 2013. The building was slated to house the operations staging area for the America's Cup regatta. [SF Appeal]
