We first told you about the bank-owned Ellinwood House back in April when we published a lengthy piece on its dramatic past (it bankrupts people! Someone removed a rose bush that was a gift from Queen Victoria to make room for a pool!), because it had just landed back on the market with an asking price of $12,500,000. Less than a month later the property went into contract, and we're happy to report that it sold today for $11,500,000. The 11-bed, 11.5-bath, 16,474-square-foot mansion underwent a $10 million remodel under architect Lewis Butler and designer Paul Wiseman in 2000. We sincerely hope that this big abode's future is drama free. Oh, and do invite us to the housewarming party.
