Tonga Room Safe For Now

We reported in March that the Fairmont Hotel, Nob Hill's iconic NIMBY battleground and Hotel Workers Local 2 victory– and coincidentally, a hotel— was being sold. Via press release, we've learned the deal has indeed closed for $200M. Kingdom Holdings retains its share, with two LA-based equity firms buying Maritz, Woolf & Co's half. Fairmont will continue to run the place, presumably keeping the fluffy towels in the Tonga Room's coat check for drunken frats who decide to go swimming. [Curbed SF Inbox]
