We love this house on August Alley, a street in North Beach so narrow it was impossible to get a shot of the front. But the views from the interior look pretty swell. The classic carpenter-built 3-bed, 2.5-bath house came on the market 25 days ago, and was pricechopped last week by $200,000 to $2,295,000. Built in 1912, the compact 3-story was beautifully renovated by architect Jennifer Weiss, reversing the floor plan and putting the living space on the top floor and bedrooms on the entry level. Two of the "bedrooms" are actually a double parlor, so lets just call it flexible. We especially like the detailing of the Florence Knoll-influenced cabinet work in the living room and kitchen, along with the zinc-topped bar with a view. There's parking for two cars side-by-side plus a roof deck on top with views of the bay, and behind the garage, opening to a small patio is another room, without a bath or direct access to the house other than an outside staircase— but still, excellent storage. Check out the agent's dedicated site.Open Sunday, May 7 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and on Tuesday, May 9 from 9:00am to 10:30am.
