Coming up this week, a BoS Audit & Oversight committee will vote on Rec & Park's plans to expand the Marina Yacht Harbor with an additional 36 boat slips at a cost of about $1M. The entire marina has been having $26M worth of work done over the past year, of which $23.5M is a loan from the state, and the new slips are expected to generate about $150K a year in new revenue. Also up for approval are new rules eliminating the legacy transfer of slips with the sale of a boat, a revenue-cramping tradition that has also kept the public facility's waiting list jammed up for years.
