Coit Tower To Get a Facelift

"I have directed the Recreation and Park Department and the Arts Commission to work with the Board of Supervisors to find ways to restore historic Coit Tower," said Mayor Lee. And with that we learn that Mayor Lee and Board President David Chiu have managed to muster up $1.7 million to repair Coit Tower and restore the historic murals that were painted in 1934. "Now, we can move forward on the improvements that this iconic piece of San Francisco's skyline deserves," said Board President Chiu. Hopefully this is the last stop on the restore and "protect" Coit Tower drama train. [Curbed Inbox/photo via Shutterstock]
