Yesterday we told you that the Board of Supervisors were fixing to vote whether to urge the Secretary of the Navy to christen a ship as the "U.S.S. Harvey Milk." And they did! The board voted 9-2 in favor of the proposal. "LGBT people have always served in the armed forces," Supervisor Scott Wiener, who sponsored the board's resolution, said. "Now our community can serve openly and proudly." [SF Appeal/Curbed/photo via Shutterstock]
