Agreement Reached

An agreement has been reached between San Francisco and PG&E to split the cost of utility work on part of the very dramatic (it should be preserved! No it shouldn't! Yes it should! Shut up!) North Beach Library project. The new and much larger (two-story, 8,500-square-feet) and more modern library will be located at Lombard and Columbus and expand the Joe DiMaggio Playground. The Mayor's Office tells us that PG&E has agreed to remove electric poles and underground existing electrical transmission lines on Mason Street, improving aesthetics and freeing up more space for the park.
