The Valencia Playground and Pool have been closed for a major renovation for over a year. Members of the community voiced their concerns about access to the improvements (specifically the soccer field — which has historically been mostly used for pickup games). We'll have to see how it goes when the soccer field (but not the rest of the park) re-opens on May 22. That's not all neighbors are pissed about. The playground doesn't have a square inch of shade, and certain grassy areas were replaced with cement. Head over to Mission Mission for full details and a lively comment section.
