Live Nation vs. Nob Hill: Round 4 (Or 5? We Lost Count)

In the never-ending battle over use of the Masonic Center at 1111 California Street, it seems there's been an agreement (for now). Despite the Planning Commission approval of Live Nation's plan for live events at the venue, the Nob Hill Coalition and Nob Hill Association appealed the ruling. At yesterday's Board of Supervisors hearing, representatives from the Nob Hill Coalition and Live Nation compromised on a maximum of 54 live entertainment events (down from 68), and of 176 non-live entertainment events (down from 219). There would be no limits on the number of events with 250 or fewer attendees. But the Nob Hill Association didn't sign off on the deal, demanding that the venue hold fewer events, citing concerns including noise, parking congestion and traffic stemming. The Supes approved the new deal 11-0 anyway.
