"It's been uplifting to see all the support and see that people care what we are doing," said Patrick Rump, executive director of Literacy for Environmental Justice. On Earth Day, vandals caused an estimated $15,000 in damage to a restoration nursery in the Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. Thankfully, community support for the nonprofit native plant nursery has been pouring in, even from bigwigs like PG&E and the State Parks Foundation. Interested in helping out? Volunteers are needed.
