That unlovely elevated stretch of road known as Doyle Drive between the Marina and The Golden Gate Bridge comes down with a bang during this weekend's 57-hour closure and demolition starting at 8:00pm on Friday. The 19th Avenue approach to the bridge will remain open, but expect southbound mayhem from Marin drivers who won't know where they are and heavy traffic northbound to the bridge. Don't bother trying to cut through Crissy Field, which will be open but without access to the bridge. All will soon be gloriously reborn as the Presidio Parkway.
