Getting the Job Done

New, 2 comments

There will be a big party on Memorial Day weekend to celebrate the Golden Gate Bridge's 75th anniversary, but it's business as usual for the painters responsible for keeping the international treasure freshly painted. "You're taking care of something very special," said painter Dennis "Rocky" Dellarocca, who's been a painter on the Golden Gate Bridge for 28 years. "This is not just a national icon but a world icon, and we're very proud to take care of this bridge." Delarocca said it'll be business as usual around the bridge's big events, as keeping the bridge's paint job in good shape is a never-ending job that takes place year round.
