Yesterday we told you that the very special golden fire hydrant at 20th and Church streets that saved the Mission District during the 1906 fires was accidentally repainted silver. A a reader chimed in yesterday evening to say "As of 8:00 tonight when I walked by, the hydrant is gold!" We visited the San Francisco History Association's Facebook page to confirm, and 14 minutes ago they posted the photo to the right showing that it's true, it's been repainted gold. Hooray! [Curbed]
