Tourists who are sick and tired of walking the beautiful Embarcadero may soon have a more convenient way to see the sights. After considering it for years, the Port of San Francisco is planning to have water taxis available in time for big events next year like the America's Cup, the port's 150th anniversary, the opening of the Exploratorium and other events. The plan isn't concrete, but at an informal presentation on Tuesday officials said the service would ideally consist of 60-foot-long vessels, with about 50 people each, traveling up and down the shore.
