Buckets of Rain

We're on day 4 of a 7-day downpour, so it should come as no surprise that certain areas of the Bay Area have flooded. The Santa Cruz Beach Broadwalk is no exception. The rain has caused the San Lorenzo River to change course, "flowing parallel to the amusement park and turning sharply in front of the lower end of the boardwalk near the Ferris Wheel, instead of flowing straight out to the sea," reports NBC Bay Area. Thankfully the 105-year-old local landmark has a top shelf staff that's confident they can weather the storm. "The Boardwalk has withstood many storms in its 105-year history. We have a very experienced maintenance staff, and we are confidence in their ability to stay on top of the situation," spokesman Kris Reyes said. [NBC Bay Area/photo via Shutterstock]
