Equity One is the new owner of the Potrero Center. The SF Business Times reports that the real estate investment trust just purchased the center for $111 million from San Francisco-based Emerald Fund. Many moons ago (late 2008) we told you that the owners of the strip-mall wanted up to 1,800 housing units to be built above the chain stores and parking spaces, but that plan went on hiatus once the market tanked. No word yet if Equity One plans on bringing those plans back from the dead. Neighborhood bonus: this is the same site where the Seals Stadium stood until 1959. [SF Business Times/photo via Yelp]
