No Salesforce in Mission Bay?

New, 5 comments

Salesforce.com has suspended development of its proposed 14-acre Mission Bay campus, saying it needs space faster than it could build it and thus will focus its efforts on expanding into existing buildings in downtown San Francisco. The San Francisco Business Journal posted late yesterday that the company's Mission Bay site would not get built as planned. You may recall that Salesforce recently signed SF's largest lease in years- 400K square feet- downtown. While we're sad the Legorreta+Legorreta campus may not get built, this new strategy probably makes more sense if their business is growing so quickly, just no purple campanile. No word on what they'll do with 14 acres of weeds in Mission Bay. We recommend a wildflower meadow. [SF Business Journal]
