Crissy Fields is now home to some wind turbines and also an electric charing station, which National Park Service officials unveiled yesterday. Park officials said that the project is part of a partnership between the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the Hawaii National Energy Institute to study the effectiveness of small wind turbines. This is also the last step the 7,200 square foot center needed to take to qualify for Platinum LEED certification, so handshakes and high fives all around.
