The internationally known and very successful (and San Francisco based!) Gensler design and architecture firm unveiled the newly designed Wharton University yesterday. The university's newest campus is 37,000 square feet and is located in the historic Hills Plaza at 2 Harrison Street. The Gensler team made liberal use of the skylights and windows to create a more open, light and airy environment. The open spaces are meant to evoke the courtyards on Wharton's Pennsylvania campus. "The Wharton School sets the standard for business education, and we are excited to help them create this innovative learning environment in a remarkable setting," said Doug Zucker, Gensler principal. The project is gunning for a LEED Gold rating.
