Alcatraz Gets its Graffiti Back

New, 3 comments

The National Park Service has repainted graffiti dating back to the two-year occupation of the island prison by Native American activists at the tail end of the 1960s. The "Peace and Freedom. Welcome. Home of the Free Indian Land" message was meticulously documented and then painted back on the water tower after it was restored earlier this year. [Huffington Post/photo: NPS]
