The Beacon's Lawsuit is Back

New, 2 comments

Since 2008, 595-unit luxury residential complex The Beacon in South Beach has been in a legal fight with the two architectural firms responsible for the design of the buildings. A state appeals court has just reinstated the lawsuit, after a Superior Court judge dismissed the Beacon Residential Community Association's claims that the building's designers are responsible for design flaws like overheating and structural defects. "We're not trying to get rich. We just want the place to be fixed for the people that live there," said Ann Rankin, a lawyer for the association. [SFGate/photo by Bhautik Joshi]
