Curbed Cup 1st Round: (4) Billionaire's Row vs. (13) Upper Haight

Billionaire's Row is home to San Francisco's most expensive abodes. Just yesterday we broke the news that 2901 Broadway sold for $28,250,000, making it the 3rd most expensive single-family home sale in the history of the city. The strip of Broadway that stops at the Presidio is home to some of the most affluent residents of San Francisco, including billionaire couple Ann and Gordon Getty, and recently welcomed newcomers Jonathan Ives (Apple's senior VP of industrial design) and Zynga founder Mark Pincus. Considering renting on the swanky strip if you'd like to fancy yourself as some type of moneyed tech hotshot.

While known to some as a tourist trap, folks who live and work around the Upper Haight know it's far from that. Grab a drink the Alembic Bar while you gossip about the renovations to the former Red Vic space, followed by some shopping at Amoeba records or one of the many vintage clothing shops. And hey, if you live in the neighborhood you're just steps from Golden Gate Park—the third most visited city park in the United States.
