Kumbayah Wth Coyotes

Bay Nature has featured another article on their urban coyotes series, this time focusing on how human interactions with the animals are what cause most problems. Humans who feed the coyotes cause them to lose their natural fear of people, and disregarding trail closures and dog leash laws put humans, their pets, and the coyotes at risk. Most dog-coyote conflicts are in Glen Canyon Park and Golden Gate Park where there are a lot of dog walkers people often don't follow leash laws. Turns out coyotes prefer coming out under the darkness of night, so basically be smart and don't try to turn them into your pets. [Bay Nature/Photo: Minette Layne]
