Remember when holiday lights didn't really get lit until after Thanksgiving? We don't either! Nowadays Halloween seems to kick off the collective holidays, so by now, the second week in November, we're in full shopping-season swing. There are lots of lights, sales and charitable events to take in this week. But pace yourself! We've got many more weeks of these shenanigans ahead of us.
1. Berkeley: You'd be hard-pressed to find a shopping locale more festive than Castle in the Air in Berkeley after it undergoes its transformation into a Christmas wonderland. Owner Karima Cammell and her staff will officially flip the holiday switch tomorrow, November 9th with a fete from 5 until 7 pm when Castle in the Air will celebrate the debut of its amazing holiday windows (see photo above from last year). Honestly?WTF's Erica Chan Coffman will co-host the event--it's one of her fave places to shop. Join the festivities for 25 percent off (except vintage), hot cider and bubbly. And if all that's not enough of a draw, Friday night is also Fourth Street Berkeley's holiday lighting ceremony! [Castle in the Air]
2. Union Square: Serenity MedSpa at 77 Maiden Lane is holding a benefit next Wednesday, November 14 from 5:30 to 7:30pm to raise money for Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo, an organization that enlists charitable interior designers to transform dreary hospital rooms into cheerful, healing spaces for kids at Children's Hospital in Oakland. Get exclusive one-night-only specials on the latest beauty technology and products, and help raise money by bidding in a silent auction or buying a basket of skin-enhancing goodies. RSVP here, or donate $100 or more online for $50 towards a spa treatment. 'Tis the season for charity and glowing skin! [Serenity MedSpa]

5. Healdsburg: It's a lovely time of year to head to Healdsburg for some harvesty fun, and Tallulah boutique at 139 Healdsburg Avenue is providing yet another reason to head north. The shop's owner, Denise Trefry, is collaborating with interior designer Cathy Hopkins of St. Dizier to curate a luxury pop-up shop to get your home ready for the holidays, and to spark the shopping season. Look for velvet pillows, gilded Tobi Tobin candles and one-of-a-kind furniture at special sale prices. The pop-up launches tomorrow, November 9 and runs through November 21 from 11am until 5pm daily. 6. Union Square: Last week Uniqlo re-opened the pop-up shop that served as a temporary location while we all waited with baited breath for its new San Francisco location to open at 111 Powell. The pop-up, at 117 Post, aims to take capitalize on eager holiday shoppers who want a quick hit of the brand's fleece and puffer jacket styles. [Uniqlo]
7. Jackson Square: Holiday shopping always involves a little something for you, a little something for me. Feel guilty about none of it by shopping the Women, Style, and Substance Fundraiser today at Hedge Gallery, 501 Pacific Avenue from 11am until 3pm. You won't have any trouble finding something that tugs on your purse-strings: the event will feature designers including Band of Outsiders, Current Elliot, Equipment, Tom Binns, Jenni Kayne and lots more. Proceeds will benefit WomanCare Global, which helps improve the reproductive health of women around the world. Now that is the spirit. [WomanCare Global]
8. Oakland: Marquee Salon is the East Bay's newest place to get your hair did, and it's not celebrating with one stinking party. These opening festivities will last the entire weekend, starting with cocktails, food from Boffo Cart, and music on Saturday November 10 from 7 until 10pm. Then on Sunday, Marquee is curating a pop-up shop featuring Serial Cultura, Heritage Mercantile, and more on Sunday from 12 until 5pm. It's all happening at 420 40th Street, Suite 3. [Refinery 29]
9. San Francisco and online: Local jewelry designer Megan Stacy, the talented woman behind Salty Fox, has launched her latest collection of handmade jewelry dubbed Odessa. The baubles feature brass geometric shapes that are modern and edgy but at the same time manage to evoke ancient hieroglyphics. Shop Odessa online here! [Salty Fox Jewelry]
