Fabric8, home to one of San Francisco's 33 parklets, has just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for its next parklet. They've already raised $1,695 of their goal of $5,000. Over the weekend, Fabric8 will be uninstalling the existing parklet (which we're quite fond of) designed by Erik Otto to make room for the next one. The new parklet is currently being designed and built in-house with painter Ursula Xanthe Young, who's best known for her cityscapes of San Francisco. The parklet will be an outdoor lounge with theater seating and a small public stage set against a rendering of the city's landscape and skyline. Installation of the new parklet will begin immediately.
