The Twin Peaks Tavern is one step closer to becoming a city landmark, as Supervisor Wiener will propose an ordinance landmark the site at today's Board of Supervisors hearing. The site was recommended for landmarking by the Historic Preservation Commission back in September, and with Sup. Weiner's proposal, it will head to the Land Use and Economic Development Committee before coming before the full board. If designated, it'll be one of only 3 local landmarks associated with LGBT history (the other 2 being the Castro Camera/Harvey Milk Residence and the Jose Theater/Names Project Building).
