CPMC Scales Down

New, 3 comments

After many months of political battles, California Pacific Medical Center has downsized its planned Cathedral Hill campus while increasing the footprint of St. Luke's Hospital in the Mission. After opposition from the Board of Supervisors and union and neighborhood groups, the hospital group is changing their strategy. A new plan could involve a significantly smaller version of the proposed 550-bed Cathedral Hill hospital complex at Van Ness and Geary, and an increased bed count at St. Luke's. Some are concerned that any substantive changes could lead to major construction delays, as they'll require additional environmental review. [SF Business Times/previously on Curbed SF]
