Supervisor Scott Wiener has introduced some controversial legislation related to revisions in CEQA, and today the Planning Commission will debate the changes. The new rules would basically limit the public's ability to hold up development projects with appeals - a process that San Franciscans know and love. While opponents are accusing Sup. Wiener of being the pocket of developers, he claims he's just streamlining the process and preventing eleventh-hour appeals that needlessly stall approved projects. Expect some epic public testimony on this one. [SFist/SF Gov (pdf)]
