Boeddeker Park Do-Over Breaks Ground

Boeddeker Park in the Tenderloin, known more for being rich with drug dealers and people behaving very badly than an actual park, just broke ground on an $8 million overhaul of the park. The park's been shut down, and according to Sam Hodder of the Trust for Public Land the park will be replaced with a cleaner, greener, safer one. "For all those 50,000 that live within walking distance from this park, there's virtually no park space available to them to connect with nature, connect with their neighbors and to feel safe," Hodder said. The new park will make its debut in 18 months. Click the rendering to the right to see an aerial view of what the completed park will look like. [CBS SF/The Trust for Public Land]
