Welcome to Racked SF, where local fashion blogger Kristen Philipkoski reports on retail comings and goings around San Francisco. Philipkoski has been living and shopping in San Francisco for 20 years, and she blogs about it over at Stylenik.com. Seen a store open, close, or otherwise claim your attention? Hit the tipline, s'il vous plait

It's officially Movember, folks, so throw out those razors and stock up on moustache wax. And you can take that fancy facial hair out on the town shopping and partying up a storm at the multitude of events we've outlined below.

1. Tenderloin: Happy Movember! To celebrate, hyper-local online pub The Bold Italic is throwing a men's fashion show dubbed Haberdash next Wednesday, November 7 at The Great American Music Hall at 8pm. Local hotties will show off looks from Artful Gentleman, Department Seventeen, Self Edge, Bonobos, D Structure, Freeman's Sporting Club, and more (we don't need not stinking models!). You'll enjoy live band action from Wildcat! Wildcat! and AB & The Sea. Broke Ass Stuart (a former Haberdash model) will MC, and DJ Omar will spin. Proceeds benefit Movember, an moustache-growing effort that raises money for prostate and testicular cancer awareness. Also, shhh, Curbed readers get $10 off tix using code INSIDER here. See you there! [Haberdash]

2. Mission: Sweater sale alert! Right on cue as some seriously chilly weather heads our way, Mira Mira at 3292 22nd Street is offering 20 percent off all sweaters. Score on hard-to-find brands including Gat Rimon, by Zoe, Something Else and more. Sale starts tomorrow and runs through the weekend. [Mira Mira]

3. Hayes Valley: Marine Layer makes incredibly soft and comfy shirts for men and women. They also suck at technology. Apparently they sent a bunch of erroneous emails yesterday, so they're offering customers 15 percent off using code FLOPPYDISK (they also have a fun sense of humor) on any orders today. [Marine Layer]

4. SOMA: Rolo and indie clothing lineInsight are throwing a pre-weekend celebration on Friday night. Plus all day they're giving customers 25 percent off all Insight merch. The party is at Rolo headquarters, 1301 Howard Street, from 6 until 9pm. Grown Kids Radio will be spinning, Pabst Blue Ribbon will be served, and Sex & Design magazine will be sponsoring. 5. Noe Valley: We're all jumping for joy about Mill, Unionmade's sister store, recently opening its doors. So don't miss your chance to raise a glass of bubbly at their champagne reception tonight from 6 to 9pm at 3751 24th St. They'll also be showing off their new shipment of Janezic silk print tops and pants, locally made by San Francisco designer Michele Janezic. 6. SOMA: TopShelf Boutique, a mobile fashion truck, is landing in San Francisco today, and celebrating its San Francisco pit stop with a shindig at Bloodhound at 1145 Folsom Street tonight from 5 until 8pm. The Popchips-sponsored sartorial vehicle will pop up in 34 Northern California locations this month from San Francisco to Oakland to Sacramento. For the full schedule, click here. 7. Union Square: The Nordstrom half-yearly sale starts today you guys! Go early and bring your sharp elbows. It's sure to get a bit cray in there, with brands like Cole Haan, Diane von Furstenberg, Free People, Haute Hippie, Hudson, Kate Spade, Nike, Trina Turk and Tory Burch up to 50 percent off. Sale is today and tomorrow only runs through Nov. 11 (apologies for the earlier error)! [Nordstrom]

8. Fort Mason: SF Tribal kicks off tomorrow in the Fleet Room, Building D, tomorrow. It's your chance to score ancient sculpture and jewelry from far-flung locales. Check out local purveyor Joe Loux, who recently acquired a rice deity figure (bulul) from the Philippines, a woven manuscript cover from Burma and ancient gold jewelry. [San Francisco Tribal]
