Potrero Hill Fixer-Upper Both Frightens and Delights Us

New, 27 comments

While we're big fans of fixer-uppers in this town, this one in Potrero Hill looks flat-out haunted. Thankfully, Halloween is just around the corner, so if you make an offer now you can hold a spooktacular Halloween party before you start tearing down walls and purchasing basic appliances like a refrigerator. The 3-bed, 1-bath, 2,500 sq. ft. single-family home is a "rare opportunity to remake an Edwardian with peek-a-boo downtowns views and huge garage into a stunner!" The bones of this abode are incredible, and if we can type frankly, we would recommend more refurbishing to these interiors than remodeling. The central floor of the house has built-ins galore, intricate hardwood flooring, and a very large and unusable kitchen. It would take quite a bit of elbow grease to get this place move-in ready, but it'd be worth it. Upstairs is a semi-finished attic that would be great as a master suite conversion or office. There's also a pretty big garage (complete with dirt floors) that has 12-foot ceilings. Asking price? $849,000. Readers, is this house too spooky to purchase? Is too much work required to actually live in it? Or is it perfect (for you or someone you know who's looking to buy). Let us know below and in the comments.
