Pretty Pricey Housing

New, 4 comments

John Silvia, a Walls Fargo economist, recently told the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce what we all already know: the tech boom has inflated housing prices, both for renters and buyers. "What do you do as more younger, wealthier people move in to be part of the in-city tech boom?" Silvia asked. "What happens to the middle-income people or families in terms of pricing?" Mayor Lee chimed in to say that he's trying to get Proposition C passed by voters in November. The proposition would set aside $50M over the next 30 years to fund affordable-housing project and promote homeownership. [SF Examiner/image via Shutterstock]
