Decoded: San Francisco's Most 'Sexy' Condos

New, 4 comments

Welcome back to The Brokerbabble Glossary, where we take a word or a turn of phrase that seems to show up in an unreasonable number of listings and decipher its true meaning. If you have any ideas for us, send them to the tipline. Today's word: Sexy.

The word 'sexy' is thrown around quite a bit when describing posh pads. By definition it means:

The concept of sexy when used to describe an abode is at least a bit subjective. To one a concrete fortress with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and stainless steel galore might be the epitome of sexy. To another, it means silk sheets, velvet walls, and an abundance of mood lighting. For others, it means a windowless bathroom with identity issues:

Then there's the whole "if it's new it's sexy" approach, as seen below. It doesn't really matter what the condo looks like, even though it's almost always a modern dwelling with white walls, recessed lighting, stainless steel appliances and tasteful finishes like Heath Ceramics tile and brushed metal faucets.
