Seeking a Quieter Polk Street

New, 12 comments

Board of Supervisors President David Chiu, who reps Distirct 3, is flirting with the idea of prohibiting new bars, liquor stores and shops selling tobacco products from opening along Polk Street between California and O'Farrell. The Supervisor introduced legislation on Tuesday that would prohibit such businesses from opening. "It's just to calm things down a little," said Ron Case, chairman of the Lower Polk Neighbors. "It's just gotten out of hand over the weekends. There are so many people." [SF Examiner/photo via Erik Wilson]
