Giants Transit Mayhem

Transit agencies like Muni, BART, and Golden Gate Transit are taking a cue from the 2010 Giants victory parade and preparing for the onslaught of people expected to pour into the city for tomorrow's parade. Two years ago, up to 1.5 million fans attended the victory parade, which caught transit agencies off guard and caused massive delays. Nearly 523,000 passengers used BART that day, which remains the busiest day in its history. All the agencies are encouraging people to avoid normal commute hours of 6-9am, and will be adding additional service to all the lines that serve Market Street. Buses that normal travel the parade route will be rerouted. But despite all their efforts, you should probably expect it to be a massive clusterf**k. [SF Examiner/Photo: Nicole Abalde]
