Vote on Union Square Station

New, 1 comment

Today the full Board of Supervisors will finally be voting on the Union Square station of the Central Subway project. Despite the slew of approvals and funding the station has already received, there is still that pesky lawsuit floating around from SaveMuni, who argue that non-recreation construction on park land requires voter approval. Last week the Land Use and Economic Development Committee unanimously approved the plans, saying the new subway station will contribute to the recreational use of Union Square and its design will have a minimal impact. Expect the same cast of characters to voice their opposition at today's hearing too. [SF Gov/previously on Curbed SF]
