Oscar Park Won't Be Sketchy

New, 5 comments

The new Transbay Transit Center will require several overhead ramps for buses, so designers are making sure the area below them won't be a hotbed of sketchy behavior. The area will be home to Oscar Park, a public open space that could contain anything from a vertical climbing wall and basketball courts to a dog park, public art and a biking path - or all of the above. Most of the space will be centered around Folsom and Howard streets, with the occasional grassy open space where they can get enough sunlight. As previously reported, community meetings have been held to fine-tune the design elements, with another public meeting some time this fall to get community feedback. No big rush, since the park isn't set to be constructed until 2016 or 2017. [SF Examiner; Curbed SF]
