Keeping the Affordable Housing Trust Fund in Check

The Planning Commission will vote today on an amendment to the proposed Affordable Housing Trust Fund that would require the Mayor's Office of Housing and the Planning Department to report to the Board of Supervisors every five years. The November 2012 election will include an amendment to the San Francisco Charter which would establish a new Affordable Housing Trust Fund dedicated to providing affordable housing and other housing related assistance. The new structure will replace the now defunct Redevelopment Agency, and the proposed amendments would make sure there's evaluation of how it is or isn't working every couple of years.
