Go Out to Pasture in Cow Hollow

It's quite clear that the San Francisco rental market is hot, hot, hot right now, so here at Curbed we're going to bring you a bevy of rental properties each week for your perusal. This week, we look at Cow Hollow, where you'd be sandwiched between Billionaire's Row and Bros and Boats in the Marina.

Budget: Let's start with this cute studio for $1,800 on Gough at Lombard. The kitchen is a little "rustic" but the bathroom has been remodeled. We think it's quite charming, though proximity to Lombard means checking for street noise and looking both ways at least twice before crossing the street. There's a shared patio with a grill that looks perfect for beer-soaked bashes in case you don't want to bring your buddies up to your place. No word on laundry, but the closet is huge, so maybe just fill it with enough clothes that you'd only have to go to the laundromat once a year. [craigslist]

Middle of the Road: What drew us to this next apartment, a junior 1-bedroom for $2,200, was its remodeled kitchen and great location at Fillmore and Union. Great for transit and our favorite fro-yo stop in the back of the corner store, you're also well placed to take advantage of a quick walk to the Marina. Laundry is in the building, parking is not. It does look to be on the small side - with the kitchen and living room as one, with a separate sleeping room. We're also not entirely sure about the puce tile in the shower, and with all that transit (you'll get both the 22-Fillmore and the 45-Union on your block) check for noise. But did we mention froyo?[craigslist]

Luxury: In the spirit of "we'd like to be adopted by anyone who can afford this," we bring you a doozy. For $11,999 per month (because $12,000, frankly, would be absurd) you can land this 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath penthouse out at Scott and Greenwich. Yes, even for that kind of scratch, you'll still be sharing bathrooms. Get into your own private elevator and come up to the good life: views of the bay, a cozy fireplace, designer finishes... this place has the works. Parking, storage, laundry, all is included in addition to a shared yard. Have fun watching more America's Cup capsizes from your private roof deck and sleeping on your mattress stuffed with money.
