Don't Fear Your Own Shadow

New, 1 comment

The Planning and Rec & Parks Commissions voted yesterday that the shadow of the proposed 1,070-foot-tall Transbay Tower won't have a significant or adverse impact on certain public parks. The vote comes hand in hand with approvals to raise the cumulative shadow limits that have been in effect since the 1989 "Sunlight Ordinance." While the Rec & Park Commission approved the changes unanimously, two Planning Commissioners voted against, calling the changes "massive." With the new approvals, future projects essentially have a clear shot (relating to shadows anyway) to build taller denser buildings within the transit district plan area. The actual plan for the Transbay Tower goes before the Planning Commission for approval next week. [SF Gate/previously on Curbed SF]
