Sad news for the latest additions to Golden Gate Park's bison herd. A baby bison died yesterday after it ran into a fence in fright during an encounter with a small dog that had gotten into the enclosure, city and zoo officials said. The small dog was in a pack with four other dogs, none of which were on a leash, even though the handler was aware that it was a designated on-leash area.
