Bye-Bye Bay Bridge

New, 6 comments

It's time to think about taking down the "old" Bay Bridge, now that we're getting new spans in place. Originally thought to take two years, it's now estimated that the demolition will take between five and seven years and cost $244,000,0000. The demolition can begin "within days" of the opening of the new Eastern Span, but that's not until late 2013 so you still have plenty of time to say your good-byes to the 75-year-old original bridge.
