In 2010, the Port of San Francisco issued pier landing rights to San Francisco Water Taxi LLC, in hopes that the group would begin offering taxi service between the North Bay and San Francisco. It never happened- for lack of investors- and now Ports wants to revive the idea for 2013 in time for the America's Cup. Five minutes from Sausalito to Hyde Street, the on-call service would not compete with the ferries. Which seems a shame. [via SF Examiner]
