Looking Good, Bayview Opera House

New, 1 comment

We first got word that the 124-year-old historic Bayview Opera House was in dire need of repairs last year. There were reports of a fungus infestation and a nasty flood, and the San Francisco Arts Commission's community arts and education program director Judy Nemzoff said "the more we explored, the more extensive (the damage) was." We're happy to report that, with help from Habitat for Humanity, this past weekend the historic building marked the completion of the renovations needed. "It's a wonderful opportunity for us to do what Habitat does very well which is build and to partner with fantastic community-based organizations," said Habitat for Humanity's David Burnett. "Then the organization can devote their resources to their programming." [CBS SF/Curbed SF previously]
