Tree (Budget) Trimming

New, 3 comments

The Department of Public Works "is between a tree and a hard place," Dan Flanagan, executive director of San Francisco's nonprofit Friends of the Urban Forest, told the Chronicle. Due to budget cuts, some San Francisco homeowners are now responsible for the trees that line the sidewalk outside of their home. The Department of Public Works won't be caring for some of San Francisco's trees anymore, a move that is expected to save the city about $300,00 this year. [SFGate/photo via Shimmer Dog]
