Moving Forward With the SFMOMA Expansion

New, 3 comments

At yesterday's Board of Supervisors meeting the board unanimously rejected an appeal opposing the SFMOMA expansion, which will expand the museum by 230,000 square feet. As expected, the appeal came from an attorney representing the W Hotel, which is the museum's neighbor. The appeal, which was weak, argued that traffic congestion will increase as a result of "the project's closure of the mid-block area that the W Hotel relies upon for loading/unloading and valet activities." If the W Hotel isn't satisfied with the supervisor's decision, they can sue as a last resort. [SFGate]
