Richmond SF brings word that the marquee renovations at the beloved Balboa Theater have been completed. From the blog we learn that it's the first of a long list of planned improvements with the help of the San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation. Most folks thought the theater was going to go under after owner Gary Meyer left his post as operator of the theater, especially after he said "I made the decision that in mid-August I will be giving up the theater. My hope is that the theater will survive." The theater will also undergo an interior facelift, including new seats and an all-digital projection system. [Richmond SF/photo via Frank Kelsey]
